Historic Henry County Geocaching Trail
We maintain a fun and informative trail of Geocaching sites around the whole of Henry County. Explore former city sites and places of historical interest as you search for the geocaches we've strategically placed at each location.
Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use GPS or other navigational techniques to seek containers, called "geocaches", at specific locations all over the world.
A typical cache is a small, waterproof container containing a logbook and sometimes a pen or pencil. The geocacher signs the log and dates it. After signing the log, the cache must be placed back exactly where it was found, for other geocahers to find. Larger containers can also contain items for trading, such as toys or trinkets.
HCHT, and others, have hidden several geocaches around Henry County, leading you to fun and historical spots: Camp Harlan and the Veterans Memorial, for example.
To play, type in www.geocaching.com. [You will have to create an account the first time you play – but it’s FREE] Type in the zipcode of the area where you want to search and a list of available geocaches will be presented.
